A warehouse development in Midrand required bulk cut and fill across a sloping site, followed by layer works to a specified density before slab construction could start.
We supplied a 36 ton mass-excavation excavator, three 30 ton articulated haulers, a 14 ft motor grader and a padfoot soil compactor as a single package, with a water tanker to hold moisture at optimum through a dry August.
Every layer passed density testing first time. The contractor moved onto slab work a week early, which pulled the whole project programme forward.
